The Campground was not maintained. The grass was knee-high everywhere. The swim sight had sand which was nice but it also needed maintenance. The grass was way too high around the play area and the pavilion. Seemed like it could potentially be a place for snakes to linger. With kids, this made my experience poor. The bathrooms were clean and maintained well.
Also, more campsites need to be made available to reserve online.

We made the reservation close to a restroom but it was closed the whole holiday weekend. When we ask the camp host about it they was supersized it was closed and said "will check on it". Cedar Lake is a beautiful place to camp but is so badly managed and maintained by the Forestry Service it was almost empty of campers. Chiggers and ticks are at every campsite and the grass and weeds have not been cut in a long time. The common joke around camp is "this is a typical goverment brother-in-law job". Get rid of your do nothing family members and hire someone who will work.

I love the equestrian camp sites and love that that Cedar Lake has a section just for those camping with their horses.

We go to the Equine Camp. The camp is great. Each site is spacious and has pens for horses, water, and electric. The riding is magnificent. Views that can't be beat. Many miles of trails, which makes for fun for days and days. It is my favorite place to ride.
