What Guests Are Saying
Cedar Lake is highly praised for its beautiful campground, clean facilities, and well-maintained trails, making it a favorite destination for camping and horseback riding. The friendly camp host and the serene environment contribute to a positive experience, with many guests expressing their desire to return. However, some visitors noted maintenance issues with the showers, limited cell service, and the need for upgrades in certain areas, but these did not significantly detract from their overall enjoyment.

We came to Cedar Lake to trail ride, the accommodations for horse trailers and horses are wonderful!
This is such a beautiful facility with such a great trails, I was very surprised how few people were there to trail ride over the four days that we rode.
We will definitely be back.

Cedar Lake is the cleanest park we’ve ever been to! We could tell that our lot had been cleaned and prepped for our arrival. We witnessed the entire crew power washing, painting, replacing picnic table tops and benches with new wood, and clearing the walking trails. Beautiful location that we’ve already recommended to friends and on social media.

Sandy Beach Campground was not very well maintained while we were there. Knee high grass in spots. No hot water in the women's shower. Host was hardly ever there. We did not feel real secure with no one on site. The swimming beach is not very big but that did not stop the locals from packing it everyday we were there (2 weeks). Checked and hardly anyone ever paid. They would leave trash all over the place before they left. Never felt like there was enough room for our family who paid for a camping spot to go down there. The dump site did not have a working clean out hose. There is no cell service. Very disappointed with our camping experience there. Would not return.

The Campground was not maintained. The grass was knee-high everywhere. The swim sight had sand which was nice but it also needed maintenance. The grass was way too high around the play area and the pavilion. Seemed like it could potentially be a place for snakes to linger. With kids, this made my experience poor. The bathrooms were clean and maintained well.
Also, more campsites need to be made available to reserve online.

We made the reservation close to a restroom but it was closed the whole holiday weekend. When we ask the camp host about it they was supersized it was closed and said "will check on it". Cedar Lake is a beautiful place to camp but is so badly managed and maintained by the Forestry Service it was almost empty of campers. Chiggers and ticks are at every campsite and the grass and weeds have not been cut in a long time. The common joke around camp is "this is a typical goverment brother-in-law job". Get rid of your do nothing family members and hire someone who will work.
