All went well. Grounds were in good shape. Views were good. Trail around the lake was good. Now the 'bad', Some signage, especially the information bulletin boards, needs to be reconditioned. The trail could use some updated markers and signage. And some updating on the piers is needed. But still was excellent and will visit again.

Well marked trails. Nice facilities and shower house. Stalls and plumbing could use refreshing in showers.

There is limited service at the camp site, besides that it is well maintained and absolutely beautiful.

The stalls need some major maintenance. Trying to keep a stall cleaned on black hard wet dirt is exhausting, They all need gates. The heavy maneuver to get in and out of them when you’re old, is very hard on your arms. The trails were not very well marked, they were sporadically marked. Too many big rocks, and the trails need severe maintenance. I would not return.
However, the camp host Brenda was very helpful. You are lucky to have her!

It is a beautiful place to camp and ride horses! Our family loves camping at Cedar Lake Equestrian campground every year for Fall Break. The host is very friendly & helpful as well.

The campground & trails were in great shape, free of trash & well maintained. The camp host Brenda & her helpers are dedicated to keeping it nice for all to enjoy!

From Poteau, OK, take U.S. Highway 59 south approximately 22 mi to Holson Valley Road (10 mi south of Heavener). Turn right (west) onto Holson Valley Road and travel approximately 2.5 mi. Turn right (north) onto Cedar Lake Road and travel 1 mi to the camp boundary.
From Talihina, OK, take U.S. Highway 271 east toward Poteau for 11 mi. Turn right (east) onto Holson Valley Road and travel 19 mi to Cedar Lake Road. Turn left onto Cedar Lake Road.

General
- Campers with horses must reserve sites in the equestrian loops only (HCLE and HCMR)
- All horses must have proof of current Coggins test
- Maximum outboard allowed on lake is 7.5 horsepower
- If a reservation holder does not show up by the day after their scheduled arrival date, the reservation is cancelled and the site is open for 'walk-ins.'

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
- Reservations must be made at least 10 days in advance of arrival.
- No off road vehicles are allowed in the recreation area.
- All dogs must be on a leash at all times while in the recreation area.
- Vehicles must be parked on paved or gravel surfaces at all times. Additional parking is available at the bathhouses.
- no generators may be used during quiet hours.
