Nice campsites with electricity. Website states they do not have potable water, they do now, however I filled up before arriving.

Some sites are better than others, and not all sites have water hookups. But the wildlife refuge is amazing and the wildlife that is just casually passing through is a major draw! Wild turkeys, longhorn cattle and bison were all spotted this trip!

Camped at site 33C. This site is a little more exposed because it has roads on two sides of the site, but other campsites are a good distance away. Doris campground is pleasant; the lake is beautiful. The vault toilets were messy on Friday afternoon from someone who was overzealous with their toilet paper usage. The bathroom with shower was functional and a short walk from this site.

Loved the campground and the site was great. Animal-proof trash dumpsters hard to open according to the limited instructions. Others had already pried the tops loose and we would not have been able to throw away trash without that already open. The prescribed burn took place our last full day there and the camp host informed us the night before. Unfortunately, we did not have time to make alternate plans. So, we were stuck with a full day of smoke in the campsite and around the park. We did go West to find some trails which were smoke free. Overall, loved it and so many beautiful trails, scenery and wildlife.

Nice campsite, great view of the lake. Bathrooms a little far away and not maintained well.
Love the location for hiking on the Refuge.
