Great campground. Really needs better signage that matches the website. The map online breaks the campground into different loops, A B and C, but these loops are not marked in person I found it very confusing, especially without phone service. Otherwise, wonderful experience. Watch out for copperhead snakes!

The setting was beautiful, and we loved waking up to the sounds of turkeys nearby!

We loved Doris Campground! The campsite was clean and very accessible. There were lots of families around and it was pretty busy over the weekend! Everyone we encountered was super friendly and the hosts were also very friendly and helpful! I only wish the maps online had shown that the original shower room had closed. There is a new one closer to the entrance of the camp (that is pretty nice!). It might be obvious but since this is on a refuge there WILL be animals near your campsite. We saw multiple longhorns and some dear right in people's camp areas, so just be aware that they aren't afraid to come right up into your space. The whole refuge is absolutely stunning and we will be back!
