Nice, quiet, relaxing place to escape! My GPS took me a weird way initially, but oh my goodness, getting lost out there lead to a beautiful adventure! I’m not sure what the deer-like mini moose looking animals were, but I got to experience the wildlife grazing during an outstanding sunset! Exquisite country! Will be back

There was a tornado warning while we were there so we headed to the shower house/bathrooms. These were not safe as the bathroom only had a deadbolt on the outside… no way for people to close the doors from the inside. Also there was no way for the camp host to notify everyone to go to the bathroom. They shouldn’t have to drive around honking their horn…. Maybe provide them with a megaphone?? Being in tornado alley this park seemed very under prepared. We were disappointed in the safety this park offered. Luckily the three tornados that were in the area dissipated or turned before hitting the area we were at or it could’ve been bad. The camp host on duty did a great job communicating with us and mentioned some safety things he has requested but never received. He is very deserving of these requests. You have a great camp host.

We had a tornado warning while we were there. I was very impressed that the camp hosts had a plan in place of how to handle the situation. I was also impressed that the showers were rated safe up to an EF4 tornado. In all our years of camping - we never seen staff with a plan nor safe shelters. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Sites had privacy. Nice to have central water and pit toilets were clean and well stocked. Trail signage is lacking and Elk Mt Trail needs a map at the trailhead and trail markings along the way. On the rocky portion, there were dozens of fault trails that prohibited us from finding the trail.

Campground was excellent. There was plenty of space around the sites further from the lake. The main bathroom was modern and very clean. Tons of shade and some hiking trails right from the campground.
