I cannot begin to express how beautiful this park is, it is a hidden gem that is probably only known to those who live in Oklahoma. While visiting we were able to see wild Bison, Longhorns and Elk...there was even a pack of Turkeys that squabbled by our campsite. The Doris Campground was clean and offered a ton of shade from trees. There were clean bathrooms strategically located and hot showers available to dust off each day. I loved how our campsite was less than a quarter mile from the top of Little Baldy, which made for an amazing sunrise hike. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating, they offer ice and firewood at the entrance to the campsite if needed. However, the nearest town is only 15 minutes away, where you can re-stock any supplies. Overall, this is a great place to camp with exceptional amenities. The trails were fabulous and offered breathtaking views around every corner, I would just make sure to head over to the visitor center to get their preferred hiking list. There were a few trails on AllTrails that were not actual trails.

The campground is good. There are several branches in which I was in the first or A. The A branch is farthest from the lake and may be the quietest. However, staying in any of the spots seems to be a good experience. If visiting Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge this campground is a good bet to stay at. Only bad thing is that they did away with payment in cash while on site which can be nice but now require online reservations with an 8 buck service fee (steep). That view atop Mt. Scott 360 wow, and you can drive to it thanks to CCC. One of the best parks east of the Rockey's none the less.

Great place. Quite and relaxing. I would recommend a spot where you can drive into your camping spot. The ones where people had to tote their stuff to the spot didn’t seem to be as relaxed as we were.

It was amazing! Once again.
We love going to WR and Doris Campground is the best way how to stay close all the time.
The new bathrooms are excellent!
