I camped in a tent. The campground is secure and clean. The bathroom-shower was excellent. The only problem I found was finding a water hydrant nearby.

Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

We stay at Hawthorn Bluff often and really enjoy our stays (or we wouldn't keep coming back). Hiking, fishing and of course camping are some of our favorite activities while we're there. Always look forward to trips there.

These comments are relative to the RV campsite. Hawthorne Bluff is a very nice campsite. There are many water front sites and also sites which are more secluded. The rest rooms are cleaned regularly. Fellow campers are typically friendly and quiet during sleeping hours. There are hiking trails very close to the camp sites. There is also a nice fishing dock within the camp site area. Most of the sites do not have a water hook up, but there are water sources within the camp site. The sites do have electric hook ups. We made a 2nd visit during the fall. We hope to be back in the spring of 2020.

Hawthorne Bluff is a beautiful camp ground. The one thing that would make it perfect would be individual water supply for each camp site.

We had a great time at Hawthorn Bluff. The bathrooms and showers were clean and maintained. While most sites had no water. Communal water sources were spread out throughout the park. If you don't have enough hose to reach your rig, just fill up at a nearby spigot and then go to your campsite. We made so many new friends. From just swapping stories around the campfire, to wine and cheese parties, to a chili potluck block party. Hiking trails, fishing dock and playgrounds for the kids were close by. Staff was nice and very helpful. We will be back.
