Had a great time with my two kiddos. The ground was a bit rocky at our campsite when it came to setting up our tent but luckily we had brought padding to put under our sleeping bags! The bathrooms were clean and stocked with plenty of toilet paper which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately the beach was closed so we did not get to swim. We will definately be back.

As much as I want to say I had a great time, I wasn't able to go. Me and my family were packed up and driving too Hawthorn Bluff for Boomfest when I decided to look up the events. I found out that 6 days prior they posted on Facebook that they rescheduled do to flooding and the swim hole was closed. We drove and hour there just to drive an hour the other direction to find a place along the river. I understand the flooding is out of anyone's control, but instead of me getting reminders about my camp trip in 2 days I should have recieved a notification about the flooding and rescheduling. On top of that I wasn't able to get a full refund only 50 percent. I was required to reserve an extra day due to the holiday that I didn't even need.

Hawthorn bluff has gone way down hill lately...trash cans were over flowing.the bathroom sink was plugged up and the lady's restroom toilets were just nasty...and plugged up...very very very disappointed with how things have gone down hill...and the water spicket was taken all week long by another camper, had to disconnect his hose just to fill.mine up and they yelled at me to put it back on...I didnt...even the Ranger told them to disconnect after filling their camper...like I said I was very disappointed and I use to go there all the time for the past 30 years

Bath house is marginally clean and two showers are out of order. There is no camp host. Trash hasn’t been picked up since some time in April and dumpsters are over flowing. When we arrived, no one was at the gate house although it was manned later. We have been camping here for the last 10 years and have never seen it like this.

This is a very lovely campground with well thought out sites, lots of shade, good lake views, nice breezes coming off the water, fishing dock, hiking trail, easy access to the swimming/boat ramp area & disc golf course. The lake is popular for fishing & other water sports.
The towns of Oologah & Claremore are close & of historical interest as the birthplace of Will Rogers. Oologah has 2 farm to table type retailers for those interested in homegrown/homemade local flavor. Of course, Owasso & Tulsa are also close by for additional shopping & dining. Overall, this camping area is easily accessible to appealing activities & amenities, both inside & outside of the campsite itself.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- Picnic shelters and the gazebo/amphitheater are accessible daily from 6 AM to 10 PM.
Site capacity
- Shelters can accommodate up to 100 people and 50 vehicles.
- The gazebo/amphitheater can accommodate up to 100 people and 20 vehicles.
Pets
- Pets are allowed at this facility.
- Pets must be restrained, either penned, caged, or on a leash shorter than 6 feet, in developed recreation areas.
- Wild or exotic pets and aggressive animals are prohibited unless authorized by the District Commander.
Fires & fuel
- To prevent pests, buy firewood locally and burn it on-site.
Safety & rules
- Alcohol consumption is prohibited in day use areas including picnic sites and beaches.
- Camping longer than 14 days at one or more campsites within a 30-day period requires written permission from the District Commander.
Fees & deposits
- One campsite is permitted per American the Beautiful/Golden Age/Golden Access pass, and the pass holder must be present.
