What Guests Are Saying
Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

It is a nice campground. The campground seems to have a lot of day use traffic even though signs say not for day use. Maybe the sign needs to be bigger at entry and down by fishing dock. Bathrooms were clean.

Stayed for 4 nights and at least 2 of the 4 showers were not in working order the entire stay. One day there was only 1 of 4 working and they are not in very good condition.
Well deserved attention wouldn't hurt them at all and make me more comfortable paying full price when I didn't have full access to the advertised amenities but still paid full price.
We won't be back unless the restrooms/showers are all in good condition and working (4 out of 4).

Very nice campground. Right on the lake, with fishing, hiking and swimming, volleyball court, and playgrounds for the kids!

The park wasn’t as clean as it used to be to be! Seems like the previous park attendants care more about it then the ones that are there now 😢 one of the shower stalls light fixture was just laying on the ground. The bathroom drain backed up, and it was stinky! It’s a shame because I’ve been going to this campground for over 3 decades! Although I will be back because I live there. I just pray it gets better 🥰

The swim beach area was not as well maintained as is has been in the past several years that I have stayed at this camp.
