Great campsite, fishing's good, swim area is a bit away from the campsites but it's nice and deep.

Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

Hawthorn needs an update. The campground has beautiful views of the lake. However, the sites are difficult to get into, and it is not very clear on the listings that the sites do not all have access to water. Please give this campground some much needed love for us local folks.

Nice and shady area, quiet time is really quiet time so didn't have to listen to people still partying and being noisy. Swim beach was open and the kids all had fun swimming.

The trails were amazing and the view was fantastic. The water for your campers was a problem. Make sure you bring 100-150 ft of water hose to reach your camp spot and if your on the wrong side of the road, you will need something to protect your hose from getting tan over unless you just use your fresh water holding tank.
