We love this campground. We go every year in April and May to do some crappie fishing. Very friendly people and well cared for campground.

Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

Only complaint is most spots a very unlevel. Fishing dock is nice. If you scout out ahead of time where the water spigots are it makes it easier since it’s shared water. Hosts are very nice.

The best view of the lake is at this spot. Very easy to back in any size trailer. Plenty of room to spread out your gear.
