Friendly staff. Very peaceful and quiet park. Family friendly. Site 4 is short so no longer rvs/campers.

Hawthorn Bluff offers a beautiful, well-spaced campground with plenty of shade, lake access, and recreational activities such as fishing and hiking. However, maintenance issues like overflowing trash, bathroom cleanliness, and access to amenities have been noted by several campers. Despite these challenges, many visitors still enjoy their experience and appreciate the park's overall charm and potential for improvement.

Site 28 is beautiful. Overlooking the lake. (No access- on a cliff). Driveway is somewhat sloped. Rear was higher than front which can get tricky to level but able to situate pretty easily. We are 25 ft. Side to side needed about 1.5”. Has picnic table, grill and fire ring. Only potential neg is large 10 person 4 car parking in next lot #29. Could see it getting very busy. Water is not easily accessible. Take a lot of hose. 125’ is not enough.

Everything was great except for the people who cleaned the bathrooms. They would come early and slam the doors over and over. Probably 20-50 times a morning. I'm in a tent and it would be so loud. When I tried to tell them about it she gave me a dirty look slammed the door and kept slamming. Both the ladies continued to glare at me and slam the bathroom and shower doors over and over. Ruined my daughters experience and she left a day early.

My wife and I got married at 5pm and had our reception there as well. Highly recommend this location for a spring or fall event. Sunset picks are amazing and the acoustics are that of a large amphitheater in a smaller setting.
