Mcfadden Cove is a well-maintained campground with beautiful lakeside views and a clean, quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for relaxation. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts and the convenience of nearby amenities, such as a small store and access to fishing supplies. While some improvements are needed, such as additional trash pickup and shower facilities, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests eager to return.

McFadden cove is supposed to be a first come first serve camp ground. We went Thursday around noon to camp and most of the sites had reserved signs on them and nothing on the sites, not even a chair. We were only able to find a site up at the front even tho most of the sites were empty. These sites were reserved days before these campers even showed up. I am very angry because these campers were allowed to reserve these sites and not even show up until the next day or not at all. This new change to reservations at McFadden Cove ruins it for us and many others that like to camp but can’t make plans ahead of time. It used to be fun just to show up and camp at McFadden but now that people can just pay a few bucks to reserve it and not even be there to camp for days, it’s just like Osage Cove, Sarge Creek, Coon creek and the others. It’s a shame to change McFadden Cove to Reservations. The Reservers have plenty of other camps to go to. Please go back to first come first serve with on site occupancy. I only got to camp one time this summer and it was ruined by jerks that reserved most of the sites and didn’t even show up until the next day or not at all. Completely empty sites with reserved signs ruin it for everyone except the jerks that get to stay home and just come whenever they want.

We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the easy access to the lake. There was staff cleaning the bathrooms often, emptying trash cans often and taking care of the campground very frequently. We will most definitely be back.

The app we reserved our site on stated to put the reservation slip at our campsite to reserve our campsite and it was not honored. I understand first come first serve, but following direction per website it should have been honored if not we could have dropped off our camper. We ended up taking a spot we barely managed to level up in.

Beautiful site. You have electric and water at the sites. The only thing missing was a shower, but I knew that was not there so it was fine.
