We were in site $47. It rained (a lot) and our picnic table area was flooded. But the area where the RV was did great. It was a good campsite
though in spite of the flooding. Roomy with no one next to you on the north. Pretty view of the lake as well. Only two campsites flooded in the heavy rain and this is one that did along with the one directly south of it - maybe number 46. A good stay.

I called the Corp of Engineers office at Kaw before we left to move our RV into our camp spot. I called to check on the drinking & cooking water condition. I was told it was good as usable. We went to Sarge creek to camp and stayed 2 days because posted on the host entry building was a poster to BOIL ALL USAGE OF WATER. I questioned the gate keeper about the poster and he said it had been weeks since the water was rated drinkable. Something needs to be done about the water system and corrected.

The overall campsite is ideal for fishing and enjoying campfire and music without interrupting other campers. Unfortunately the stickers are horrible! 95% of the vegetation at this site is sandburs. They got everywhere, my camper was full of them. It's basically around this site due to recent erosion work that brought the sandburs in and some spraying would help tremendously.

This was the cleanest campsite and lake that I have ever been too. Not only that but the camp hosts and the people in town were very kind and friendly. My family and I were very pleased to the point we plan on being back next year.
