What Guests Are Saying
Virgil Point is a well-maintained campground with beautiful sunsets, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great place for camping. Despite some issues like the inoperative 240v outlet and infrequent cleaning of the bathhouse, many campers enjoyed their peaceful and relaxing stay, praising the level sites and water access. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's cleanliness, scenic views, and affordability, with many expressing a desire to return.

We stayed in the B loop. The campsites are not paved, but level. We did battle some ants. We were there end of July and only about 6 sites had campers and that suited us perfectly. The C loop has paved sites and it was full and pretty crowded. Boat ramp is near C as well, so a couple of reasons for the popularity of the loop. The camp host looks like he’s lived I. c loop a very long time- lots of stuff.

This is a GREAT place to camp. However, the 50 amp and 20 amp plugs don’t work (and haven’t for some time). We do have a 50 to 30 amp adapter and used it, but it limits the number of things we can run at one time. We would’ve liked to have plugged the outdoor fan into the 20 amp plug (instead of into the camper since the 50 amp plug doesn’t work), but it doesn’t work either. This would be the best spot in the park in the middle of summer if y’all could get these fixed.

It was literally a last minute decision to ride through this campground to check it out, and book it online while sitting in front of the site. I received a quick on-line reservation authorization via e-mail on my account. The weather was hot (June 2021). It was nice that this campground offered several sites with shade trees. Fortunately the site we decided on was available (per online reservations) and located on the lake side with awesome views. The only bad experience we had was on the day we were leaving (unhooking/tearing down) the guys showed up with weed eaters, then mowers, and was getting right up to our Motorhome and motorcycle trailer. There were only 3 RV's total in the park including us, and for some reason they started on our side first. I jumped out of the RV and and asked them if they could wait another 30 minutes before they finished over here. There were huge amounts of common area in the park with no campers around. My wife offered all 3 of the workers on our site and another one close by ice cold bottle water. They were happy and thirsty. (It was HOT!) They moved on to the other vacant areas in the campground. From my 25 years of RVing I personally think yard maitance close to check out time should be avoided. I obviously felt rushed even through It was only 11:00 am and technically we had several more hours b4 check out time. It's not safe to rush any campers on moving day tearing down to travel. We were planning, and needed to leave by 12:00 noon. To head to our next corps park in Arkansas. But, with that said, we really love, and appreciate the Army Corps of engineers campgrounds. Very affordable for us (seniors). 90% of the time the parks are well kept and very nice. I love the ease of the online booking too. We will see you soon!

Parked 35 ft 5th wheeler on level concrete pad. Covered picnic table adjacent to the camping spot. Site had 50A and 30A service. Steep large rocks to walk to water, but manageable. Pulled up small fishing boat on shore next to site, made easy to go fishing.
Campsite has shower facilities if needed. Dump station as you leave campground. Plan to stay again.

We were surprised at how nice this park was. Site was level and comfortable. Long drive with minimal inclines made bike riding pleasurable. Hotspot reception was good. Bathroom was nice enough but a little far from all campsites.

The first night, we had no power for air-conditioning. When we got ready to leave , we could not use the dump station, as it was overflowing!! Not good!
