What Guests Are Saying
Virgil Point is praised for its beautiful sunsets, clean and well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a pleasant camping destination. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and scenic water views, with some noting great picnic areas and level sites. However, there are concerns about maintenance, including electrical issues, bathhouse cleanliness, and some campsites being under water.

Host at Virgil pint is running what looks like a used car lot. Very trashy. This has been going on for quite some time which is why we quit going there a while back. Decided to try again hoping this particular host would be gone, but sadly that’s not the case. Won’t be going back any time soon.

The first several days were quite nice and we were enjoying the park. A storm system then came in and apparently the lake was already high. On Wednesday morning at approximately noon we were advised that the park was closing and we needed to immediately leave. I advised that I had lost the key to my vehicle but our spot appeared to be a high enough point that it would be fine and would not flood. I advised that I would come back after the park was accessible again to get my vehicle however the park apparently had it towed. No one called me to advise that it was being towed or who towed it. I am on a very limited budget and by the time I found out where it was the amount the tow company wanted for towing and storage, it was more than I could afford. Therefore I now have only a class a motorhome that has to be my daily driver. The park should have at least come by the day before advising of the possible closure, it's not like the storm appeared out of no where. They had time to advise all 3 campsites of the situation. If I had more than àn hour to prepare to leave I may have been able to find my keys and wouldn't have lost my vehicle. We are disappointed with the way the situation was handled and will not return to this park.
