We had a very good weekend until the very end. We hooked up to leave the campground on Monday morning and the line to the dump station was quite long. It took an hour and a half to get to the dump site and then the lagoon was very, very slow and would not take our water. A campground as nice and as big as Birch Cove should have more than one dump station and it definitely should be running at a 100% especially on a holiday weekend.

Birch Cove is an older campground and is sort of "run down" in a lot of ways. But we love it for its quiet beauty and camp there a few times every year. The camp hosts, the Allisons, are very accomodating and always make us feel welcome.
On this particular visit we were seeking respite for our pets from the endless holiday fireworks in our home neighborhood. The trip was a success and the pets were happy.
The only negative that we experienced is that the mosquitos were HORRIBLE! this was, I'm sure, exacerbated by the record spring flooding.
We will visit again soon.
