The only drawback to this campsite is that you need to have 200 ft of water hose, or a full fresh water tank, other than that, it's one of our favorites!

Tall Chief Cove is a well-maintained campground with clean facilities, friendly staff, and beautiful waterfront sites, making it a great spot for relaxation and family fun. Many visitors appreciate the shaded areas, easy access to the lake, and the helpfulness of gate attendant Kathy. While some sites may be narrow and lack sewer hookups, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Even though the lake was way down due to drought conditions, the campgrounds are always kept clean and mowed. The beach area closes on October 1, however there was nothing posted anywhere about that, which was disappointing. We couldn’t have asked for better weather but overall a great camping trip.

If you’re tent camping I wouldn’t recommend, a lot of RVs that pull out truck loads of fairy lights and light strips and then leave them on all night. If you’re in an RV you’ll blend right in

Check-in was speedy, space was easy to find and more than adequate for our needs. The thing that stands out the most is the cleanliness of the restrooms/bathhouse.

From Tulsa, Oklahoma, take Highway 75 north to State Highway 20. Take the Skiatook exit, turn west on State Highway 20 and drive about 15 mi. Turn left on Lake Road and proceed about five miles to the campground.
