Great site! A lot of fun activities to do with kids. Never found the hiking trails but we never got the chance to ask. The volunteers were so friendly and helpful. Shout out to Chris especially for extra wood for my boys’ campfire. Spectacular location to see sunrise and sunset over the lake. I recommend the C loop.

We love Tall Chief Cove EXCEPT… will not/do not book the last week of September - first few weeks of October on C loop as there is a large religious group that takes over almost the entire loop and turns the place into a zoo — quite the opposite of the retreat and relaxation that our family goes camping for. They have several families on each site, trash the bathrooms (I feel bad for the wonderful cleaning crew), play their music at the pavilion early in the morning, throughout the day, and late at night, and don’t care if their dogs bark their heads off. I have inquired at the gate about this group and all I get is that they cannot do anything about this group booking. There needs to be something done, because a public place such as this is NOT the appropriate place for a private gathering of this size and length. We love camping in the fall, for good reason, but this group has caused us to go elsewhere. Please do something!!

Absolutely love camping here. We come often. I wish there were more rangers checking in and driving through. Gate staff are amazing . Super sweet to our son. We definitely love it.
