What Guests Are Saying
Limberlost Campground is a lovely, quiet, and clean facility, well-stocked with essentials. However, restrooms were not cleaned during the three-night stay, and lack of signage for the reservation-only group site led to some confusion with visitors. Overall, it offers a great experience, especially before the highway snow gates open, with ample space for group activities.

The campground was a beautiful white spot. Beautiful old-growth forest.

When we arrived there was someone else already in our reserved site. They camped there because the sign on the post read, "Open." There were no camp hosts around to talk to about it. Luckily, there was an open site that we were able to get our small camp trailer into. Also, a homeless guy looking for "something with caffeine" harassed us until I became forceful and told him to move on. Once again, there was no one around to report this to.

Great spot, nice river access. You’re more alone than the other site. One issue- toilet smell can be annoying but it’s more at the parking pad than where you set up the tent.

This campground is excellent. The vault toilets are clean and well stocked. Lost Creek is great for cooling off and makes nice babbling stream sounds. The campground is filled with old cedar and fir trees. Sites 8 and 9 are a good pair for larger groups. Site 11 has room for about 4 tents. Site 10 is isolated and close to the water but only has enough room for one tent. HWY 242 is generally quiet, especially at night. We had a blast driving up HWY 242 to hike Proxy Falls and visit the Dee Wright Observatory. The McKenzie River General Store was 10 minutes away and great for stocking up. We rented aluminum row boats at Clear Lake (20 minutes away) and had a great time. Visiting the Belknap Hot Springs (10 minutes away) and gardens was a nice treat. Will come back to visit again!

Due to a lack of local knowledge, and the forest fire road closure (Aufderheide) we were not able to camp at Limber Lost as we had planned. Our refund claim is in process but has yet to paid:(

Site 10 was perfect. Very private and a small river access.

Limberlost is a nice little campground! All of the sites are in very close proximity to water; although, the access is pretty steep and rocky (but not impossible!). The sites are relatively close together, but the layout and trees offer decent privacy. Site 12 is right on the road, so be aware of that. Otherwise, the road isn't visible or within earshot of the other sites.
There is no water! We knew this, as it's listed on the site; however, we were asked by multiple campers where they could find water.

Really nice campground! Vault toilet that smells like a toilet. I was hoping to play in the creek, but it is super swift. It is close to proxy falls which cooled us off (cold snow melt). It sure is beautiful and with all of the trees, we had shade all day!
