What Guests Are Saying

Mckenzie Bridge campground offers a beautiful and quiet location with private sites, many near the river, making it a popular choice for repeat visitors. Guests appreciate the lovely natural surroundings, shade from trees, and nearby hiking opportunities. However, some have noted issues with site proximity, restroom cleanliness, and a frustrating check-in experience, particularly regarding reservation management and interactions with other campers.

We got to our site (5) and determined it was incredibly small. No room for a tent other than the driveway area. The picnic table was broken, we notified the hosts and had maintenance out the next morning to fix it. Overall there was a lot of debris piled around campsite broken concrete and pipes. The campsites are oddly laid out. We have a pop up trailer and tent and there wasn't space for them. You would need to rent two sites to accommodate. The tent site for site 4 is within arms reach of site 5 . All the sites you are get to know your neighbors pretty well you are practically on top of them. Two nights in a row we had someone walk through our campsite following a trail that unfortunately goes through sites 8,7,6,5,4. The hosts were great, the bathrooms were clean but just the layout of the camp sites is challenging.

This is a great little campground. We got really lucky in that it was mostly empty the weekend we went. The bathroom was very clean and the hosts friendly. Site 7 is awesome, tucked off the road! You have to walk a short trail from your car to get to the actual site, but it really feels secluded because you aren't sitting there staring at your car (though you get a glimpse of it through the trees to rest assured it is still there...not that there was any reason to worry). Sites with lower numbers than 7 start getting closer to the busy road (26) so would avoid. But then the other direction you get closer to the path to the boat launch. I think where 7 and the ones on either side are hidden gems. HOWEVER, though they might be "riverfront" there was not a direct path to the river from our campsite, as we were situated above the river. Campsites on the other side of the day use area had direct waterfront access, though the amount of usable waterfront space varied dramatically from site to site. The boat launch was a great place to try some fishing (though the river was moving incredibly fast) and there is another spot between boat launch and site 8 where you could sit and potentially float in a raft or just wade in the water, it is a bit protected from the fast current. I would definitely come back to this campsite, and recommend it.

The Campsite was wonderful! We had two side by side that had an easily accessible trail that linke the two but enough shrubs for privacy. The host was welcoming and kind made sure we knew where everything was and that our stay was pleasent. They made sure noise curfew was followed (which is always appreciated).
Our sites were plenty big enough for our crew. We had 8 on each site, were able to fit 3 tents on one and 2 large tents on the other as well as plenty of parking space even for our extra vehicle.
If you are looking for a quite relaxing spot, Mckenzie Bridge is perfect. The sites are set alongside the river, some sites have access but most just a small access to sit and listen to the rushing water. Nearby is a great place to eat and trails and waterfalls less than 20 minute drive!
We will definetly be coming back next year!
