Scout Lake is a quiet and clean destination, ideal for families with kids, offering shallow beach areas that gradually deepen and a great environment for paddle boarding. The lake is warm for swimming, and visitors can enjoy the abundance of wildlife, including birds and salamanders. However, the steep banks may pose challenges for individuals with mobility issues, and it's advisable to check for algae on warm days.

Quiet, clean, beautiful, lots of birds, close to many trails. No dogs allowed near the lake in order to keep it clean for the native wildlife. I'm including a video of a newt (I think) having a late afternoon swim.

Great local lake, it’s shallower and smaller so it tends to be warmer for swimming. My kids have found salamanders several times. Make sure if it’s warm you double check there’s no algae! But overall a really fun place to come. The banks are fairly steep so this could be a challenge for people with mobility issues!

Great place to take your kids for a day. Beach areas are shallow and gradually get deeper. A great paddle board lake for families. Also lots of big floating logs everyone pushes out to float and play on.

A great day on the lake. Got there early. Not too crowded. Water was cool but not cold. Lots of kids, no furry friends allowed though.

We went here the end of April. There were some small patches of snow under trees. This is a very small lake but very clean and a wonderful emerald green color at this time of year.
