We always love our time at Blue Bay. We have camped here for several years as a family and I grew up coming here so probably around 35 years. The sites are cozy, it is perfect walking distance to the lodge where you can rent water crafts. They are reasonable and lenient on the time frame. The camp hosts are always kind, the sites are always clean and have the occasional bonus firewood leftover. There is always an atmosphere of respect and fellow campers have always been friendly to one another. No one has ever been obnoxious or loud late into the evening. It is not too far away from Sisters in case you need to resupply or grab something you forgot. The hiking trail around the lake is nice.

#15. Large space with pull through. Enough room for 4 cars or truck and trailer and another car. Lots of flat spaces for tents. Backed up to sloped wooded buffer between site and the road. Road noise from the main highway audible as a low drone sound. No camphosts on duty. Bathrooms stink and not cleaned during two night stay. Dozens of dead and live flies in there and ran out of tissue. Otherwise the rest of the grounds were very clean and with good shade.

My family loves camping at Suttle Lake and we have had great experiences at other sites but our most recent trip to Blue Bay was disappointing. Upon arrival we realized someone was occupying our reserved campsite already. No camp host on duty. After waiting nearly 45 minutes we were finally able to wave down a forestry vehicle who went to track down the host. When said host was finally located she claimed her paperwork did not show our reservation. Come to find out, her “paperwork” was from 3 days prior. Very unorganized and running things very poorly. We were put into an undesirable site which was all that was leftover. Next morning woke up at 6 AM to loud generators from camp host which I thought was not allowed at these campgrounds.

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
