Cottage Grove is a beautiful little town. Pine Meadows, located on Cottage Grove Lake is very nice. Our family camps here multiple times every summer. We had a campsite right on the water. Plenty of grass makes for clean camping. Water was warm and clean. Showers were warm and cleaned twice daily. Overall my only complaint is the parking. I have been camping at Pine Meadows for over 40 years. There used to be parking avialable on the main road. That was eliminated in 2020 I believe. Also during Covid, the campground limited parking to only two cars per campsite. No additional overflow parking could be purchased and no on street parking. No doubt this was to limit the amount of people per campsite. My complaint is that the parking is still limited to only 2 vehicle, or one camper/trailer and one vehicle per site. Even though there is overflow parking available in the campground, the Army Corps. will not authorize extra parking permits.
We have a family of 6, with 2 teenage. They go back and forth to town for practices and work during the summer while we camp. This year we had to rent 2 sites to allow parking for all of our drivers, thus eliminating a possible campsite for other campers. I find this extremely frustrating and really wish they would bring back the parking permits.
