About Rujada Campground

Rujada Campground is located 21 mi east of Cottage Grove (45 minutes from Eugene) on a riverside terrace above Layng Creek. A favorite site for family picnics and camping, visitors will enjoy shaded campsites with privacy, access to swimming on the banks of Layng Creek and a hike through a rich riparian Douglas fir forest on the Swordfern trail. Check out a historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) shelter and a kid's playground with obstacles, swing, teeter- totter and monkey bars both located within the campground.

There was no water. The flush toilets were closed. We were told this was due to vandalism. I wish I knew this before we went, as we didn't pack enough water and had to drive into town. Otherwise, it was great.

Sadly the campground needs updating. We stayed here last year and loved it. Aside from the no trash and water service. Our two sites this year 13 & 9 had large picnic tables but they were rotting and falling apart. We had to find logs to support the benches.
Beautiful swimming area.
No trash service. Plan to bring your trash out with you.
Porta potties instead of bathrooms.
kept clean but no running water.

Site host was friendly and we were undisturbed for our visit.

We really enjoyed the campground. The location next to the river was wonderful. We were told that there would be water turned on by the time we got there and it was not. The vault toilets were fine. But I highly recommend that you get the water turned back on soon.

It was disappointing to have no water or garbage service. It seems like some people will be leaving their garbage behind. It won’t be us, though.
