What Guests Are Saying
Whitefish Horse Camp offers great trails, a beautiful lake, and clean, comfortable campsites. The well-constructed stalls for horses and the campground's overall quality were praised, along with the wonderful host. However, only one trail was cleared, limiting riding options and leading to disappointment regarding trail accessibility.

This was a new camp for me and I liked the whole experience. Our hosts were super nice and helpful. They helped us get into our site and knew which trails were being used. They said one trail was not cleared very well, that was the Met-Windigo trail on the north end of the horse camp.

Super clean, large enough treed sites, plenty of room between camps, roomy steel corrals, water spigots between sites. Lots of trails right out of camp, the only down side to that for some people is that the loops are really long, 15+ miles. If you don't like turning back when you've had enough, you won't like the trails even though they are beautiful and nothing looks the same going back, as it did going out. Don't forget to make a reservation, because the camp fills quickly. Oh, and you need TONS of mosquito repellent before August 1.

This is my favorite horse camp. Experience was a "10" with exception of camp hosts. The woman was a bit rude and inflexible.

Wonderful time riding in the morning and swimming in the lake in the afternoon. Trails were nice. Campsites were clean and well maintained. However, the dump site was too far away from out site. The hosts were outstanding.

Conveniently located next to Crescent Lake the camp sites at Whitefish were clean and spacious enough for our rig (truck with a three horse trailer). The space for vehicles varies from site to site and so you need to check if you have a large rig. Each site had a standard sized picnic table and benches in good shape. Potable water was nearby. The horse corrals were sturdy and well maintained. There is only a single manure dump in the middle of the campground and only one wheel barrow, and so you may want to bring your own, especially during busy times. There were only two outhouses for the entire campground, but they were clean and well maintained. The trails were clear and easy to follow and led to gorgeous views of lakes, valleys and mountains. Footing was very good, but there was some rock to be cautious around. Mosquitoes were a real problem in July on some of the trails, but not in the campground itself.

Whitefish is our favorite camp. This year, we loved the hosts as well. The spaces are larger than usual with great footing in the pens, potable water every other site and Tranquil Cove just across the road. Riding in wilderness areas is our favorite and the trails out of Whitefish are made for us.
