Sutton Campground

We love Sutton campground! It’s the perfect base to go north to beaches or south to Florence for shopping and restaurants.

Quiet, clean, well maintained.

The campsite I had was not clear, we had to trim branches for over a half hour so my trailer had enough clearance. The loop roads and most of the campsites need the trees trimmed , people don’t want to scratch their rv’s or damage their roofs

Typical Forest Service campground. The sites are semi-leveled and long enough for most rv's. However, only few sites can handle 40' Class A or longer. This camp has 30A power hookup and it is very weak, causing multiple runs to the breaker box. Finally, and we find this in most NF campsites, there is a lack of maintenance when it comes to cliping the branches. The park has the word "Forest" in it but, there is very little "foresting" going on. We drive Class A and are 13' tall and we have a hard time navigating the parks without scratching the siding on our coach.

Very quiet campground. Lots of sites are semi secluded.

We have a 40' RV and our site was adequate. We took this site because it had electricity and that was also adequate. The whole CG is very dark so solar would be useless. This CG is run by a concessionairand they are consistently present. We removed our car before entering so we wouldn't block traffic on the narrow roads and we immediately told we would have to pay for an extra vehicle but they relented later. We had to ask that a few low hanging branches be cut because we and other taller RVs scraped their roofs

This is a nice site, roomy and private, but there is a steep dropoff down to the creek at the back edge of the site, so it wouldn't be good for small children.

Nice spot. Pretty quiet after Labor Day. Great trails all around. Good base for exploring north to Yachats, Florence and south. Super clean restrooms.

Would be helpful if site pictures were available. An external site has them if you poke around. And you want to. A few sites looked a bit awkward if wou like nice and flat.

The wildfires in the area were too much. My boyfriend has a trach and it would have been too hard on his neck. I do wish the website would have mentioned something about this before we drove the 2 hours to get there

The campground itself is pretty nice for a forest service campground with clean flush bathrooms. Around midnight, somebody came through with a truck with a loud exhaust playing rap music at concert level decibels. They circled the campground two or three times and then spent about a half an hour at the bathhouse. I’m an avid camper, but did not feel safe staying in this campground and would not stay here again. This camp would benefit from a locked gate during the wee hours
