What Guests Are Saying

Eagle Rock Campground is a beautiful and quiet gem, offering stunning views, well-kept sites, and proximity to hiking trails and a river. While the campground is mostly clean and offers privacy, some facilities, like restrooms, could use improvement. Overall, visitors appreciate the serene environment and plan to return.

Beautiful spot right near the river, we spent two nights here with our kids and had a good time. Draw backs include: Road noise from the Hwy, VERY SMELLY vault toilets that need to be cleaned more frequently, and rather small campsites (we struggled to even find a big enough spot to put our tent). We will probably return but will Be more selective of which campsite we reserve.

The campground was quiet and beautiful. I like that there are no lights on at night and the sites are pretty clean and well maintained. The trashes weren’t picked up during our stay of four nights and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned. The toilet paper was also not stocked, so be sure to bring your own supply!

Nice location on section 1 of North Umpqua. Camp spots well spaced. Quiet. Lots of no-shows & early departures, which was a shame for a totally reserved campground over 4th of July weekend. Only bummer was no available water

We’ve been camping up the North Umpqua for over 40 years. Can’t seem to ever get a spot at Horseshoe Bend anymore, but Eagle Rock is our 2nd favorite. Learned that if a campsite is reserved, but not occupied the first night, that site becomes available to whoever comes along. This was a God send, as we had extended family join us later in the weekend. Half the sights are on the North Umpqua river and the forest service had chopped a few down trees into rounds, so someone could split their own firewood. Dry Creek Store is only 4 miles away, for those forgotten items. Trail heads are everywhere within a short driving distance. The campground is nice. No fire damage. No loud partying. Ample and accessible garage bins. Nice roadway for kids to circle with their scooters or bikes. Dog friendly, but many folks did not adhere to the rule of leashing their pets. Vault toilets are kept clean, though (on Friday) they were completely out of toilet paper. I wish the forest service would retest for potable water, it’s been twenty + years, since they capped off their pump style water spikes. Oh - the price of $10/night is the only good deal to be found within 100 miles of the I-5 corridor this summer.

As long as you don’t mind not having potable water, this is about as good as it gets. Large spaces, quiet neighbors and the sound of the rushing Umpqua to put you to sleep. Our spot had access to a private riverside beach which we only shared occasionally with another site. It was well shaded and the breeze of the river helped cool things down even though the max temps were in the low to mid 90s. I highly recommend.

A way for those traveling through to purchase firewood would be nice. Like they have at Susan Creek.

Great spot.
The campsite we were in was E8.
The sites are not numbered we “E” in front of the number, number only. A little confusing because we weren’t sure if we were in the correct campground.
We thought maybe there was an East and a West campground but there’s only the one.
Great spot to camp and go see (drive to) waterfalls.

Unfortunately it was very Smoky from the fires, but we had almost the whole place to ourselves. It's a beautiful spot. Camp sites are pretty separated and good size. I met a state trooper and a ranger while I was there, and both were very friendly. I was alone most of my first day, and that made me feel safer.
