Kinnikinnick (Laurance Lake) Campground

Absolutely terrible experience here. Upon arrival to my site there was lots of broken glass at the tent pad, and toilet paper/human waste. The next site over was empty and marked with a OPEN tag so we moved to that one. When making his rounds, the camp host blocked the road with his truck and approached myself, my partner and child very aggressively, and intimidatingly made us move back to the original site. He was yelling and was extremely aggressive to a family being respectful trying to have a nice weekend. The next morning we filed an official police report with a ranger. This is a wonderful lake and great place to camp, but this man ruined the experience by trying to intimidate a woman and young child.

This place is a favorite! A really great community and great management. Our camp neighbor was a little crabby and hated dogs. But , no big! Pack in locations are easy enough to get to. Can’t wait to go back!

Even though there are only a few sites that are on the lake the majority of the sites have a view of the lake which was nice. It was better to not be right on the lake as it was very windy a few days we were there making it colder than to our liking. Our site was mostly protected by the wind due to its distance from the lake and sunny. We will definitely be going back.

We were there Monday through Thursday in early June and the campground was quiet, calm, and serene. It got busier and a little louder as the weekend got closer. Note that there is NO POTABLE WATER in this campground so you must bring your own. Easy lake access for kayaks or row boats. The water was still pretty cold in June but a welcome relief to late afternoon sun.

The campground was great and the campsite was awesome! The water was wonderful, so many hidden gems! The fish were plentiful and there were not too many campsites on the grounds. Steve was wonderful and even let us borrow his knife to clean the fish!
