About Lost Lake Resort and Campground

Lost Lake Campground is nestled between beautiful Lost Lake and Mount Hood. From Lost Lake Butte, the valley view is breathtaking, and from the viewpoint, guests can revel in the most majestic view of Mt. Hood, its glaciers and Lost Lake. Another one of the many attractions at Lost Lake Campground is the old growth boardwalk, an interpretive trail that meanders through one of Oregon's large old growth stands.

Our site was spacious, level tent sites, but the separation of table from tent sites (had to walk out onto the car pull out to go between them) was a bit disappointing, it spoiled the coziness of the site. Great old trees and remoteness. Roads to campground well marked and maintained. Whole campground was trash-free. General store had helpful camping supplies and reasonable souvenirs.

Site 2 is next to toilet. So smells came over once in a while and not great if you have a dog that likes to announce people (bark). Otherwise it was a nice spot, no bugs, nice staff

We are so thankful for the people working at Lost Lake! ESPECIALLY, Camp Host, Ron! We ended up having an issue with our travel trailer and everyone there was not only kind but extremely helpful! Ron especially. He was under our trailer with my partner helping without hesitation. Plus he found us a different site we could just pull into that we could use for an extended time waiting for a repairman to arrive. Thank you to the entire staff at Lost Lake Resort and Campground! You're the best!

We had a great trip despite smoke from the Grasshopper fire the first two days. The lake is lovely. We needed to change campsites since our trailer and two cars wouldn't fit into the site I reserved. The camp host helped us get our site switched to a great site for us. The day use area is the best I've seen in a small lake. We spent almost all day at the lake our last day at the resort.

I had a very private site which was very welcomed. By 10pm the whole park was quiet. The lake was not as accessible as I expected it to be and the photos on recreation.gov are unrealistic. Still the camp was clean and it was a beautiful place to camp.

Arrival & departure

  • Check-in is required before setting up your site during May, and can be done at a kiosk, store, or with a host.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

Fees & deposits

  • An additional fee of $20 per night applies for extra vehicles and $32 per night for extra RVs.
  • A day use fee of $15.00 is charged per vehicle.
  • A 2% tax is applied to campground fees.

Site capacity

  • A minimum stay of three nights is required on weekends and holidays, and site swapping or selling is prohibited.

Safety & rules

  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the lake.
  • Adverse weather conditions may occur in May, affecting roads and sites; consult a host before setting up your site.

  • Be cautious of bears in the area; maintain a clean campsite and store food in closed containers.
