About Lost Lake Resort and Campground

Lost Lake Campground is nestled between beautiful Lost Lake and Mount Hood. From Lost Lake Butte, the valley view is breathtaking, and from the viewpoint, guests can revel in the most majestic view of Mt. Hood, its glaciers and Lost Lake. Another one of the many attractions at Lost Lake Campground is the old growth boardwalk, an interpretive trail that meanders through one of Oregon's large old growth stands.

We had the best time!
A family group for a birthday. We had two campsites and one yurt in our group. We enjoyed the entire experience including a lot of playing on the water and going to the general store.

Campsite was exactly as advertised and matched photos online. It's size was appropriate for 4 people + car but fit a 6 person tent which was great.
There are several fresh water spigots in the loop so you never have to walk far to get to one. The general store has all the essentials you need, the workers there were available whenever we walked in, and helped us out with rentals, weather info, campground questions, etc.
No downsides to report really. The North side of lake has a crazy view of the mountain but the entire trail around the lake is worth the trek and is only an hour or so depending on how much you stop to sightsee.

Arrival & departure

  • Check-in is required before setting up your site during May, and can be done at a kiosk, store, or with a host.

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

Fees & deposits

  • An additional fee of $20 per night applies for extra vehicles and $32 per night for extra RVs.
  • A day use fee of $15.00 is charged per vehicle.
  • A 2% tax is applied to campground fees.

Site capacity

  • A minimum stay of three nights is required on weekends and holidays, and site swapping or selling is prohibited.

Safety & rules

  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the lake.
  • Adverse weather conditions may occur in May, affecting roads and sites; consult a host before setting up your site.

Wildlife & food storage

  • Be cautious of bears in the area; maintain a clean campsite and store food in closed containers.
