We love to come here. The campgound is quiet and well maintained. I like to fish from my kayak and this is a good place for that. The lake is usually windy in the afternoons, but the mornings are typically calm which makes for good kayaking. It's a very popular campground so plan on making a reservation early in the year.

Quiet, out of the way. Outstanding scenery. Clean campground. Plenty of room between sites, yet close enough for friends to get together. Friendly camp hosts. We always enjoy our stay here.

We have utilized this (once) beautiful campground many times over the years. Our past trip (August 2024) was a real disappointment. Trees had been cut down or had fallen with very little cleanup at the lakeside. We kayak, bike, and hike and the shoreline provided very little access to the campground due to the trees left. Hopefully next year when we visit, there will be much clean up done. In addition, we thought we were lucky to find a camp spot in August and quickly reserved it, but when we got there, about 80% of the park was empty through the entire summer weekend with reserve signs at each and no occupants. Why can't this system be improved? We could have had any other campsite because they are not updated from the online environment. A new system for cancelations is definitely needed.

The Good: Excellent location with a great view of Mt. Thielsen and incredible proximity to Diamond Lake. Very well maintained campground with easy to navigate routes, a fair a mount of trench bathrooms, and plenty of shade from the trees. The campsites are well spaced and allow for interaction with neighbors while still maintaining your privacy. Each campsite could easily accommodate up to three tents.
The Bad: Mosquitos, mosquitos, mosquitos!!! The amount of insects and mosquitos specifically is almost unbearable. Myself and my partner were littered with bites even after using the strongest repellent (98.11% Deet) that we could buy. There are also an innumerable amount of gnats. The site lacks showers facilities as well.
Verdict: I would choose Diamond Lake or Broken Arrow campground if I were to return to this area.
