The campground itself: Wonderful. The sites are all VERY generous in space, nice tree coverage. Great location, right off the famous North Umpqua River Trail which provides lots of great hiking without driving. I visited the Umpqua Hot Springs via the trail (4 miles away). Do beware of mosquitoes though, I'm guessing they are much worse on the riverfront spots.

As far as the guests. Be aware that this campground appears to be a party camp (on Saturdays at least). Multiple sites around me were in large groups, drinking and talking loud late at night. Music could be heard well past the common 10pm quiet hours. My direct neighbors were so disrespectful and loud, they were all up yelling, laughing and hooting until past 2 am. Even their 8 year old child was being loud at 2am. They even had lights on that were shining into my tent. I only got 5 hours of sleep as I needed to be up early to head to the hot springs.

If possible, visit this campground on a non-Saturday. On Sunday after all the party guests left, it was so peaceful and serene. I saw two chipmunks in my site chase each other around (I think the were sparring over some piece of food they found). A woodpecker was climbing a tree above my tent. A few people were riding bikes and enjoying the weather and the nearby lake.

Beautiful campground! It's super quiet with tall trees and a nice little stream. The bathrooms do smell absolutely foul so you need to emotionally prepare yourself for that. The road around camp does have a lot of potholes as well. But once you've parked and peed, it's a wonderful experience. It is also super duper close to the hot spring and Wastson waterfall, so that was a big plus.

Decent campground, wasn't too crowded. This site does not make it clear that a second vehicle is an extra $5 per day tho. Got bothered by an officer at 8am about it and had to pay up. The bathrooms are also disgusting, but that would be expected for a campground.

Can't say enough good things about this campground. We had a spot right on the river which was amazing to listen to overnight as we slept under the giant trees. Aside from the natural beauty, the sites were well spread out and it remained relatively quiet throughout the night. The only minor complaint is that the bathrooms weren't very clean, but I never expect much with vault toilets. We woke up early to make it to the hot springs just 10 minutes up the road which is definitely a must-see location! Will definitely be coming back here!

The bathrooms were so horrible that we couldn’t even sit outside at the table and eat! (We weren’t that close, but we were down wind) Two teenage boys stuck in the van all evening smelled better lol.
We left after one night and went somewhere else

This has easily become the go to spot for my husband and I. There is a ton of shade from the beautiful trees. Plus the sound of the creek that runs into the lake is so soothing. With all the waterfalls to see along the highway, plus the Hot Springs that is a short hike away, and Crater Lake about an hours drive away, we keep coming back every year. The vault toilets are cleaned and stocked with toilet paper pretty regularly. This campground is very well taken care of and has never let us down. 10/10 I recommend it for anyone wanting to really get away for a peaceful trip.

Very shady which was a blessing in the heat. Used as a base for exploring sections of the North Umpqua Trail. Worth noting that site 7 and the one behind it don’t have anything separating them.
