What Guests Are Saying
Ivan Oakes Campground features friendly and accommodating camp hosts, well-maintained and spacious campsites, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for activities like kayaking and fishing. While the campground offers beautiful scenery and cleanliness, some visitors noted issues with trash left by previous campers and the presence of poison oak. Overall, it's a highly recommended destination for those seeking a relaxing outdoor experience, despite minor drawbacks.

The spaces are a nice size and all have a decent fire ring. Other visitors to the location were not good about picking up after themselves. I was in two different campsites and previous visitors had left trash in each one. The pit toilets were clean. I felt safe staying alone at the campsite.

Really pleasant camp sites. Not too close together and well kept. Beautiful setting though the lake shore was a bit boring! Great staff and campground only about half full when “every where else” was full. Probably due to the distance away from the highway. Suited us just fine!!

Love how close the campsites are to the lake. Very beautiful and clean lake too. Not much privacy between you and your neighbors but the layouts are fantastic for campers and RVs. Biggest downside was the amount of bugs. Read other reviews of wasps which weren’t as bad as I was expecting but definitely have a few big guys flying around. Lots of poison oaks around so just need to be mindful of that.

Nice spot with a great view. This campsite has a lot of space. Be prepared for a lot of traffic however. It is located on the corner and foot / car traffic is fairly heavy when campground is full.

The campsite itself is great. The host was helpful and the bathrooms were extremely clean. But the campsite is absolutely covered in poison oak. We couldn’t let the dog run around at all, and we weren’t comfortable walking along any of the trails due to it. It literally blankets the ground in most places. Otherwise would have been a super cool campground! So if poison oak isn’t an issue for you, highly recommend.
