What Guests Are Saying
Goose Lake State Recreation Area offers a beautiful campground with approximately 45 sites, ample shade, and amenities like power, water, picnic tables, and fire rings. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the shower facilities are free for campers. While the campground lacks direct lake views and experienced some noise from a local mini bike, overall, visitors found it to be a worthwhile and enjoyable stay.

A beautiful campground but you are not on the lake nor can you see it from the campground.

Stopped in at Goose Lake State Recreation campground, south of Lakeview OR, to spend one night, while riding the Northern CA Backcountry Discovery Route. The campground has about 45 sites, back-in. 6 designated for tent camping. Power and water seemed to be at each site. The park is arranged in a circle, the center of which is a nice grass and trees area. Plenty of shade. Picnic tables and fire rings. One building for bathrooms/showers. Shower was free, with price of camping spot. $2 for just using the shower, if you're in need and not a paying camper. I camped on a Thursday night, in Fall. There about 8 other campers in the park. Everyone was chill, quiet and respectful. Only drawback was a local who decided to ride his unmuffled mini bike up and down the road in the evening and again at 12:45 am. Guess he needed some attention. My experience here was great. I tent camped and the cost was $19. I felt it was worth it. Also, being a long a major travel artery, Hwy 395, there was good cellular reception, if that's important to you (Verizon).

A little gem! We really enjoyed our stay. Only planned on one night but stayed three. 48 pitches, most have electric - 20 amp and water. Quiet, relaxing and space between each. Some have trees or tall bushes in between for more privacy. No pull through. Bathhouse with one shower, isn't fancy - hence only 4 stars - but is kept clean. Two camp hosts, both couples, who all do a great job of looking after this campground. Mosquitoes are bad at night so bring bug spray. Free dump and water station - honesty box donations if not camping. Short walk to the lake but there's no bank so you can't walk around it. Dogs allowed on leash. Closest town is 14 miles away so don't forget the milk, like we did!

Woah Nelly , pulled in here just to try to fill up on some water but ended up staying. They have some spots with electric and water hook ups. Big beautiful trees and a nice bunch of camp hosts. The weather is utterly perfect 65 degrees and gets chilly at night. There is an AWESOME large off leash area for pets to run around. That's amazing because you don't see that often at state parks. The lake is kinda different and hard to get too .. you can't exactly walk the shore since it's grassy and marshy. Also lots bugs but not unbearable. Very nice and clean campground.
