Boxcar Hill Campground

We were planning to go in september.So far the camp host is very friendly and easy to work with. We're getting excited.Can't wait to go check it out.

We’ve stayed at Boxcar Hill multiple times with our fifth wheel, usually traveling with a whole group of other RVs, and it consistently delivers a great experience. The sites are big enough to accommodate larger rigs, and even though things can get a little tight on busy weekends, it still runs smoothly and never feels chaotic.

Access to the dunes is unbeatable—being able to hop in the RZR and be riding within minutes is one of the biggest perks. Evenings on the beach at sunset are always a highlight. The grounds are clean, the hookups are reliable, and the staff has always been friendly and easy to work with.

Boxcar Hill continues to be one of our go-to spots on the coast. If you’re bringing a big rig or traveling with a group, just book ahead and you’ll be set for an awesome stay. Already looking forward to our next trip back. 🏕️🔥

One of my favorite spots to camp at the dunes. Years ago Christine was so sweet to us. Then there was a couple years where the host was not very friendly. The new host Terence and Alissa were so awesome.

Stayed 4 nights and had a great time riding the dunes. There are multiple sand access points to come and go. Staff was helpful and available when we needed them. I probably would have given 5 stars but there are a few things I felt could be improved, and probably will as they continue to build the new parts of the campground. I felt that there weren’t nearly enough showers for the number of campsites. Other than in the showers the bathrooms were all porta potties. There is absolutely no shade or wind blocking trees. Well, there are a bunch of trees but they’re just little ones that were recently planted. They have recently done a major expansion and things like trees take time to grow so it is what it is. Overall we had a great stay. We had a view of Boxcar Hill right from our campsite and enjoyed watching the evening shenanigans. I wouldn’t recommend this place to someone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing camp. This is definitely a motorsports destination. Bring your sand toys and have a great time!
