Lovely clean campground. Friendly camp host. My dog loved swimming in Black Lake!

We loved it! Solar powered lights and charger were a welcome unexpected convenience—but a word of advice, bring some tape or something to cover up the light on it, it’s really bright when you’re trying to sleep. Other than that our stay was fantastic. Very pleasant to have a wood stove for heat. Tons of hiking trails nearby, gorgeous mountain scenery. Enjoyed reading the journal entries others had written. Nice that there were some things left in the yurt like dish soap, paper towels, and games, too. Bed was pretty hard but it’s not a hotel, lol, still way more comfy than camping in a tent!

Very clean camp ground and well organized. Water is available. Great location near the lake and fairly private camping areas.

This was a great site on a beautiful lake - second the reco for sleeping pads but otherwise the yurt was awesome, esp the one stormy night!

Beautiful campground that makes you feel like you are in an alpine meadow, however, huge issue with noise and people not understanding how flashlights work as they are on their way to the bathrooms. No one in my family slept at all second night due to flashlights shining directly into the tents the whole night- please walk with your flashlight facing downwards, not straight ahead of you into peoples' sites. These new LED flashlights are very, very bright.
It's becoming more and more difficult to have a camping trip where people show up and setup within reasonable time frames. It was already well past 10 pm and very dark when a family came and loudly spent over an hour setting up their tent, only to deconstruct and leave by 6am the next day.
One of the sites' tent pads we set up on was so close to the next site's tent pad that we heard the neighbors snoring, even with our ear plugs in.
Visually, I immediately felt this would be a great place to come back to every year as I really enjoyed the scenery. It reminded me of Yosemite. But due the actual conditions of the stay, will not be coming back. People gotta sleep when they have long days of driving and activities ahead. Some of the sites, while gorgeous with their big boulders, are just configured in a way that make these things more of an issue.

Anthony Lakes Recreation area is one of my favorite places to camp, hike, fish or just spend the day. The camp ground provides enough privacy between camo sites that you can do your own thing without disturbing anyone. The fishing is always great and the hiking is an experience that is hard to explain. It's always beautiful. If you want to camp, I highly recommend making reservations as soon as you plan to stay in the primary camp site.

I didn't expect luxury by any means, but when the description said that there were (very) basic cooking supplies such as a pan or two and very basic utensils, there were none.
I also did not expect to have to clean up someone else's mess. Dog hair everywhere, windows in the door looked as if someone had rubbed greasy hands all over them, floors hadn't been swept in a while. Like I said, I did not expect perfection but for about 100 bucks a night, maybe a quick sweeping and some Windex.
Never saw the camp host, finally found him at his camp after 3 or 4 tries to get firewood.
The yurt itself was great and the location and views were amazing, but some basic attention would go a long way.
If you stay here... bring cooking supplies and an air mattress.

Wooded campground, sites are extremely private. The lake is beautiful fire a scenic loop to walk around the perimeter.

Everything about this place is magical…. Except the bugs. Butterflies? Super cool and added lots of whimsy to the experience. The mosquitoes though? From a nightmare. PACK LONG SLEEVES AND PANTS. It’s a necessity. Other than the bugs, this place checks all the boxes! Love it!!! Can’t wait to come back.

Well kept and lovely campground, but sadly we were evacuated within an hour of paying for a three night stay, due to local fire activity and road closure. Will have to make another trip in the fall. The reservation system is very clunky, the campground host seemed completely unaware of the pending fire risk, but the campground seemed to be lovely, and vault toilets were immaculate.
