I received an email saying it was on fire and don't come - we did as instructed. I expect a full refund with no service fees associated

We arrived at Anthony Lakes and the campground was closed due to the fires. It would have been helpful if recreation.gov would have provided some notice.

Due to wildfires, the campground was closed. We are yet to be reimbursed for our reservation.
One would think that it would be a fast resolve to return our money based on the computerized system and additional $8 fee that takes our money.

There were fires so we never could go to camp. Our frustration was that you would never tell us until the day of our stay that it was advised not to come, You never reached out to tell us it was cancelled, in fact you sent daily reminders that our camp was soon to start. The day of you said the road was closed and not to come. Each day your emails wanted US to cancel so you didn't need to give full refund. Even though you closed the camp ground, you've still never reached out to us to refund us. We had paid for 5 separate sites plus the small yurt for 3 nights, we feel you have been extremely dishonest with us.

The campground was clean and quiet. We stayed in the group camp site. The bathrooms were very clean and garbage was picked up daily. The lake is beautiful! We also enjoyed lunch at the ski lodge one day.

Anthony Lakes was an amazing camping destination and exceeded our expectations. The area is incredibly scenic, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful mountain lakes and alpine landscapes. One of the best things about this campground is the abundance of easy to moderate hiking trails that lead to stunning ponds, lakes, and viewpoints, making it perfect for families, casual hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
During our stay, we completed the Black Lake Trail and the Crawfish Lake Trail, both of which were excellent hikes. The trails were well-maintained, easy to follow, and offered incredible views along the way. Black Lake was especially picturesque, with crystal-clear water and a quiet, serene atmosphere. Crawfish Lake provided beautiful mountain scenery and was a rewarding hike without being overly strenuous.
The campground itself was clean, well-kept, and provided a great basecamp for exploring the area. Wildlife sightings, fresh mountain air, and the peaceful surroundings made for a relaxing and memorable trip.
If you're looking for a campground with easy access to alpine lakes, scenic hikes, and beautiful views in every direction, Anthony Lakes is hard to beat. We will definitely be returning and look forward to exploring even more of the trails and lakes in the area next time.
Highly recommended for camping, hiking, fishing, and anyone who enjoys mountain scenery.
