North Waldo is an awesome spot. The paddle boarding was amazing. Great hikes nearby. Saw lots of mountain bikers and may bring my bike next time. The camp host was polite, helpful, and did a good job keeping the area peaceful. Be prepared for mosquitoes - lots of them.

Everything about this campsite was amazing, minus the mosquitoes! Camp host was helpful, camp spot was spread out from other spots, neighbors were friendly and respectful, bathrooms were clean and the lake was beautiful!

Waldo Lake was beautiful and the camp hosts Doug and Arrow were amazing! Besides the mosquitos that ate us alive it was 10/10.

North Waldo was beautiful! The campground was clean and spacious. The camp host was informative and helpful. The first come first serve campgrounds are a bit difficult to navigate but we all finally settled on an agreeable outcome.

We were there only for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed at campsite 27.The water was crystal clear and warm enough for swimming .We did paddle boarding.
There were no mosquitoes and camp host Doug was very helpful.
We will go there again .

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. However, BEWARE AND PREPARE for the mosquitos! I had seen previous reviews on this issue and didn't think much of it, boy was I wrong!

From Oakridge, follow Hwy 58 east for 25 miles to the Waldo Lake Road (FS Road 5897). Follow Waldo Lake Road for 11 miles to FS Road 5898. Follow FS Road 5898 to FS Road 5895. Continue on FS Road 5895 to North Waldo Campground.
North Waldo Campground is accessible via Hwy 58, which is approximately 25 miles from Oakridge.
Elevation: 1659 feet
76 mi drive to downtown Oakridge (about 1 hr 58 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- Generator and chainsaw use are prohibited in undeveloped areas around Waldo Lake.
- Generator use is allowed in developed campgrounds--quiet hours are posted.
- Boat motor use is restricted to electric motors only.
- Emergency landing only for float planes
- 14 day boat moorage limit. People must be staying at Waldo Lake while mooring their boats.
- Islands are day use only, no overnight camping.
- Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination.
