What Guests Are Saying
Haystack Campground offers a well-maintained and quiet environment, with friendly and attentive hosts who keep the facilities clean. Many visitors appreciated the ample camping space, beautiful views of Mt. Jefferson, and easy access to the reservoir for fishing and swimming. However, the campground is plagued by numerous mosquitoes, which can detract from the overall experience, especially during peak season.

Last year first time there mosquitoes were horrible! In fairness it rained and camp host said unusual so we liked everything but the bugs so we are going to give it a try again this year praying no bugs

When I got there I wanted to change sites from 108 to 107 next to it. The site was unoccupied and not reserveable. I was required to pay on site for the site {107} and told that I was required to go on line to get a refund on the on I had payed for. As i don't have a smart phone I had no way to do that on site as I told the host. So I just let it go and stayed and enjoyed my week fishing with my grandson. To add insult to injury the host rented the site I reserved and paid for to someone else so got paid twice for that site that week. He said I wasn't using it so what! I will continue going to Haystack as I have for years but I will never, never make a reservation on line again.....

It was beautiful and the campground managers were great. The main problem for us was that we were unaware that there was toxic blue algae in the water until we got there. Out dogs and children wouldn't be able to safely go in the water. There was also a crazy amount of mosquitos all day and night, no amount of sprays or candles would keep them at Bay. We were covered head to toe in bug bites after one night and they swarmed our food when we ate. We had to go find another place last minute to finish our camping vacation.

Ridiculous to rent this site with a steep driveway as the only place to park!
