Tent only sites on the far side of the lake are down a pretty steep hill, especially site 20. The lake is sweet and the trail around it is lovely. Just be prepared to haul your gear up and down a steep hill if you're in a tent only site.

The camp host was wonderful, though I was surprised when she said she could close all of the restrooms whenever she wanted to because of vandalism in the one by the beach. If that is true please consider all the revenue you will lose from the campers who depend on them.
Also the beach is in dire need of repair. The ground needs to be graded because of all of the cracks running down the beach big enough to sprain you ankle. And so many big rocks It hard to find a flat spot to put down a blanket. Back in the day that was a gorgeous beach flat with sand and the families loved it.
On a bright note the fishing Was very good for everyone

Walton Lake is a nice little spot in the heart of one of my favorite places in Oregon. Campgrounds were very nice and the camp host Carolyn was truly a pleasure to work with and get to know a little. My wife and her learned a bit about each other, shared a few laughs, tears and maybe a hug or two.

The park, the spaces, the hostess, were an absolute amazing experience! The only problem, and I heard it amongst all the fisher people was the lake was fished out, and not many were caught. I was there 9 days, and caught one fish, after fishing twice a day. Stocking this lake would have made my experience superb... especially when you pay over $40.00 for a license. But wow, this is a great spot otherwise!!!

Absolutely gorgeous. Got there on a hot day but had the breeze from the lake to keep us cool. Lively campsites around us, lots of families and other dogs, but everyone was quiet and respectful at night/ early morning. It did get COLD in the night and we were not expecting how chilly it would be the next morning because of the high temps expected for the afternoon. (Rookies!) Will definitely come again.

Great host and campground not crowded (week after July 4th)
Fishing sucked this year.

Walton Lake is a beautiful location. My campsite was clean, large, and relaxing.
Except . . .
The first night of my stay, my neighbors in site 29 were a clan of 15 loud, obnoxious people who had too many tents, too much gear, and too many people for the space available. They communicated only by shouting, and their children were probably nice enough as people, but ran around screaming and making animal noises until 9:00 pm. Bedtime did not deter the adults, however, as they continued shouting and cursing and drinking until well after 12:30 am. It was a relief to see them ushered out the next day. This was the only blemish on an otherwise excellent visit. I will come back again.

Beautiful location, nice walking loop around the lake. Wish we had brought our fishing gear!

Nice little lake for sure. Easy to walk around and sites are far enough away from each other for the most part, to have privacy. Very level pads for trailers.
