Great time as usual at Walton Lake, the only negative was the road had the detour and that was not a smooth or CLEAN drive to and from the lake, from the highway. Not sure why they would plan a major road job during PEAK vacation time. We plan on renting the large group site for our family to all come up soon, so we will be back.

Walton Lake is our favorite campground! Check out the map of the campsites, there are a few that are on the lakeshore. Some sites are very large, others small.

Walton Lake is an excellent camp ground with beautiful forest and a small lake that you can walk around in less than one hour. I have camped there with my family for several seasons now and its my favorit place to camp.

we love this campground and this was hard to judge our impression on this trip because we had to evacuate due to the possibility of a fire coming thru the camp. The hosts were wonderful and all campers peacefully packed up and left..so I know next time we go we pray no more fire and we will be able to enjoy four full days and nights, instead of just one due to the evacuation.

Bathrooms clean. Quite during the week. A little noisy when the families rolled in for the weekend. Lots of fire wood available

As usual, we had a great time at Walton Lake. The other campers on our side of the lake were very friendly and helpful when we needed a jump for our pickup. Wish we could reserve Site 29 which is probably our favorite site. The campground was not very crowded but probably because school had started for a lot of children. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful Campsite and the camp hosts were fantastic.
Because of a planned detour that I was made aware of, I still took a wrong turn and a very bumpy ride, but were rewarded with sheep grazing under the watchful eye of the sheepherders.
We choose Walton Lake as it was fairly close to the John Day Fossil Beds which I have a years ago connection with. The Sheep Rock Unit is my favorite and the new Interpretive Center is excellent.
