Driftwood campground offers excellent dune access and a clean, quiet environment, making it a great spot for ATV enthusiasts and families. The camp host receives consistent praise for being friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. However, there are concerns about outdated facilities, particularly with limited shower hours and plumbing issues, which some visitors hope will be addressed in the future.

We have been visiting here for 5-7 days, every year, for over 20 years. The bathroom/shower situation has been terrible for at least the past 5. Im not sure I have seen the bathroom cleaned once during our visits and it doesn't look like it happens much the rest of the year as well. They do supply toilet paper and a flushing toilet. Some of the sinks work. Showers are limited to a short 4 hour? window mid day. Nobody we know takes a shower mid day during normal life. When you are camping it doesn't help much to take a shower before 1pm, visit the sand dunes or beach, which is most likely why you came here, and then be sandy until mid the next day. Something needs to be done to improve the care of this campground. Honeyman State Park 10 minutes or so down the road is a totally different state of care for same/similar camp fees.

The showers close at 2pm. After playing with the kids in the dunes and beaches showering in the evening is extremely important to our group and may not return if they dont get it figured out.

Bob was the best host of the year so far, the sites were clean, Bob was informative, and access to the beach was great. I would like to see the roads to the Sand Camps cleaned up a bit.

Good campground to ride out of. Decent facilities, but USFS chose to turn the showers off at 2pm. Who wants to shower halfway through a hot day of riding??
