We have never in our 30+ years of coming to the dunes had the Forest service give us such a bad time for renting 2 spots. We rent 2 spots due to the fact we are so long that we put our Toyhauler in one spot and We parked our towing truck and sand rig in our 2nd spot. We don’t go out of our lined spots at all then.
This is a unique camping area. Because you either drive in with a motorhome pulling a trailer with toys or come in a trucks pulling a trailer that has your sand rigs on it or some other combination of vehicles. To fit it all can be issues.
When the forest service person first talked to us, they said people complained about how we parked, who? The others in the park at that time were from our group or the others campers parking in their group, Or all the empty spots on the south side.
We’ve enjoying these camp grounds for many years and this was the first time we had ever experienced this issue with renting 2 spots. We were spoken to multiple times in our 2 week stay! Which was so unnecessary.
We also had family members staying in box trailer, that they had brought their sand rigs in. We were told by the forest service, we won’t be able to circle in the spots WE paid for next time. Each spot needed to be a campsite not vehicles. The vehicle was their camp site!
I feel forest service needs to realize that horsfall and horsfall beach camp grounds are unique Off Road RV camping areas, not like regular camp grounds!
Our group had 12 spots rented and filled at one point. We’d all traveled between 9-11 hours to get here to camp and ride the dunes.
Riding the dunes has always been great, camp noise level what you’d expect for a Sand Rig RV area and ocean is alway wonderful, even when it rains,
All except for this issue with harassment this year!

The camp host did not know her way around reservation's and how to change spots and Rec.Gov did a horrible job when I tried to reserve a spot for my son in law they made my reservation for Horse falls when I told him I was at Horse Falls Beach they are close to each other but not the same campground and I'm still waiting for a full refund since it was Rec.Gov mistake that they made the reservation at the wrong campground and I had to make another for Horse falls Beach
