What Guests Are Saying
Loon Lake Recreation Site boasts a beautiful location with well-maintained campsites, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the organized tent sites and the stunning lake views, making it a popular spot for families. However, some areas, like the playground and reservation policies, could use improvement, and guests miss the availability of running water and showers.

My family and I went camping there over the 4th of July and had a wonderful time, so glad it has opened up. The bathrooms could be cleaner but will defiantly be going back.

Need sign on both sides of the road at entrance. Drove right by it. Didn't see that turn was on right. No signs on ranger station saying there was no potable water. Dogs off leash. Owners didn't care. Boaters very loud before 8am. People up until 2 being loud. Teens ran through our campsite at night. Beautiful campground but no rules are
enforced.

Wonderful spot to take the family camping. Would have rated 5 stars but the lack of potable water affected my rating. Had a great time at the beach and swimming in the lake! The staff keep the campground nice and clean.

It’s really challenging to reserve a site -
We are always thrilled when are lucky enough to find an opening .
We’ve been camping at Loon lake recreation site for 30 years and it’s really irritating when you discover that 10 of the sites reserved were never occupied the entire duration of their reservation. People don’t bother to cancel their reservations which is very unfortunate because it could have become available for someone else that really wanted it !
