Great spot up front next to the bathrooms and lake. We're able to fit a 6 person tent with 2 queen air mattresses in the space. Water is right around back. Nice cement bench. Campsites are extremely close to each other, little privacy but everyone was chill and no noise at night.
The stars shining thru the trees are unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We loved the campground and day use area at Loon Lake. We added a day to our reservation and had time to relax on our vacation. The huge trees are amazing. We used our kayaks on the lake and hiked to the waterfall. Nice bathrooms and beautiful sites.

Really a nice recreation area. The beach area is perfect with a swim area, fishing dock and shore parking for boats, shaded grass and picnic tables. Bathrooms were clean with flushers! no showers no water hookups and no dump. Come prepared.

Space 32 isn’t a space you can back in rvs. We couldn’t stay. Asking for a refund.

Loon Lake is one of my favorite places. I can't see not coming back here every summer. Hardly any other Oregon lakes have the wonderful sandy beach. The camp hosts are great as well.

We camped at Loon Lake for 3 nights! Cannot wait to go back next summer. Staff were wonderful, camp ground was very well maintained. You can tell they really care about their space.

Very peaceful experience miss camping here as a child experience was alot diffrent this time but was still nice getaway people were respectful. Lodge didn't serve dinners anymore but we were able to improvise.

Watch for Loon Lake Recreation Site sign on OR-38 between mileposts 13 and 14.
Turn south onto Loon Lake Road, then travel 7 mi to the recreation site. When you come onto the Loon Lake Recreation Site sign on your left, the entrance is to the right, between the large boulders.

- Contact the entrance station for questions during the operating season, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Safety & rules
- Loon Lake Recreation Site is open from Memorial Day weekend until September 30th.
Pets
- Pets are allowed, must be leashed, and cannot enter the designated swim area.
Vehicles & parking
- Day Use area is open, but overnight parking is not allowed.
Fires & fuel
- Campfires are allowed in designated areas and propane is always permitted.
- Firewood is not available during the season due to limitations.
Site types & loops
- Loon Lake Recreation Site does not provide RV hookups, dump station, or shower/laundry facilities.
Fees & deposits
- A Senior or Access Interagency Pass provides a discount on camping fees for single-capacity campsites.
Utilities
- Potable water is available throughout the campground, but it's recommended to bring your own hand sanitizer and soap.
Accessibility
- Nearby access to Loon Lake is available at the East Shore Day-Use Area and East Shore Campground.
