Great campground! We only stayed one night, but we enjoyed it very much.

Tahkenitch Campground provides a peaceful and private camping experience, set amidst beautiful old-growth Sitka spruce with ample shade and birdlife. The campground is clean, with flush toilets and running water, and offers convenient access to hiking trails and nearby stores. However, the noise from Highway 101 can be disruptive, and some visitors noted issues with overflowing trash and a lack of camp hosts for maintenance.

I booked this site because I needed something last minute and it was the only option available. It served its purpose--a place for me to sleep during a road trip--but I wouldn't choose it if I planned to hang out there during the day or stay multiple nights.
Pros: Easy to find. The trees provided nice scenery. Very quiet, although it was also nearly empty. The campground/boat launch across the highway can be used as a more scenic place to eat dinner/hang out if you have a pass.
Cons: Tent pad was tiny and not particularly level; I decided to sleep in my car. Dumpsters were overflowing with garbage, probably from the weekend. Highway traffic can be noisy, but that's to be expected from a campground right off the exit. My site was next an electrical outbuilding that buzzed constantly.

This is a small campground with beautiful old growth sitka spruce, plenty of shade and a variety of birds. The campers are generally quiet and respectful of neighbors. There is considerable noise from Hwy 101 that continues all night. There hasn't been a camp host in residence for the past 2 summers, so maintenance is minimal. When we arrived on a Friday, the garbage bins were full to overflowing, and crows were scattering trash as they picked through it. The men's bathroom ran out of toilet paper, and the women's toilet quickly became clogged and backed up. It is nice to have flush toilets and running water on site. There is a nice trail to the dunes from the campground, and several other dune trails along the highway. You have to drive to the nearest lakes.

Screaming children in lower campsite could be heard even over the road noise.

Directly off hwy 101 you hear traffic all night. Tiny sites not big enough for my 9 ft by 13 ft tent. Toilet was overflowing with feces. Do not recommend.

Small campground with very lush and private sites. When we were there, there was no host on site and the dumpsters had not been serviced in some time (trash overflowing onto the roads), but the restrooms were clean flush toilets. Some cool hikes right form the campground.

The campground was very peaceful and the facilities were always clean .This is a wonderful place to stay to get away and within a reasonable distance from stores and fishing areas.
