Summary

AI generated

Tahkenitch Campground provides a peaceful and private camping experience, set amidst beautiful old-growth Sitka spruce with ample shade and birdlife. The campground is clean, with flush toilets and running water, and offers convenient access to hiking trails and nearby stores. However, the noise from Highway 101 can be disruptive, and some visitors noted issues with overflowing trash and a lack of camp hosts for maintenance.

Tahkenitch offered a much quieter camping experience than the larger coastal campgrounds.

I missed not having a shower but it was worth it in exchange of a tranquil outdoors setting.

It is very close to the highway and you do hear it but that didn’t bother me and it didn’t take long to forget that I was hearing the occasional traffic.

It was such a beautiful space…most of the sites had a lot of privacy. I’ll camp there again.

The flush toilets were not working in the womens bathroom. The host never said hello or bothered me at all. I like that I wasn't bothered, but thought that a hello would have been appropriate.

Campsite was huge we had 2 tents up probably could have had 3. Right across from the toilets which was great. Lots of hiking and the neighbors were great. We would definitely go again next year and we live in Florence. The camp host was also nice. The bathrooms however should have a sign in them saying to hold down button all the way while flushing there was issues with that we had noticed. We were told before had but other campers were not. So maybe a sign would possibly help.
