Tyee Campground - Oregon Dunes

We were looking for a quiet campground, and though this was close to Highway 101 the activity at the campground was nice and quiet. However our site was unbelievably close to the site next to us with no trees or bushes for any separation/privacy. There were three sites in a row: 8, 9, and 10 like this. Maybe if it was just two sites it wouldn’t of been so bad, but since all three were occupied it was pretty uncomfortable. I won’t stay at this campground again.

I love the camp ground. We have spent years comping there. With no camp host this year wasn’t pleasant. Forestry staff were nice but the campground was full and both bathrooms were always out of tp. I rented 4 camp sites. This is the first year I’ve been disappointed

The campground was beautiful but that’s the only good thing I can say about our experience.
When we arrived, our site was littered with trash… as was the fire pit… and it’s clear that no maintenance has been done to tent pad sites. It took a lot of prep to get it ready for our tent.
We stayed a total of 3 miserable nights listening to extreme Highway 101 traffic noises (since the campground is right next to the road and it sits about 10 ft below it as well which amplifies the reverberation from people driving on the rumble strips) and that alone would’ve been tolerable had we not had to buy earplugs after the first night in an attempt just to drown out the drunken partying/yelling/fighting from the camp hosts and their friends (or who ever was using the host site) that would go on until at least 3am each night.
The toilet paper had run out in both bathrooms and was not replenished by the time we left. And the bathrooms were so stinky I would have to drive my daughters to the neighboring state park in order to use the restroom.
This place would be great if not for laziness and neglect. I’m completely appalled at the lack of consideration from the hosts for other campers and we will never be recommending this place to anyone

This is definitely close to the road, but also has really excellent access to the Siltcoos River, which allows paddling to the ocean in a really wonderful trip. Bathrooms are vault toilets that are kept pretty clean. Camp host was friendly and helpful. If your main goal is water access, this place is great!
